PennyLane is a group of hopeful romantics with beat-up guitars and broken sticks, whose journey since mid-2004 has been rooted in a shared calling of artistic devotion and mutual desire, so as to bring the music they loved to the uninitiated.
Theirs is a meeting place of infectious, solid sounds with strong foundations in old school genres, intertwined with elements of popular music, coupled with hints of self deprecating comedic banter and matching wrist bands.
Throughout the ride, PennyLane has been having a blast entertaining audiences around and beyond the island with their own little brand of rock and roll and deepening their love affair with music at the same time.
LIN
Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar, Harmonicas. Noted for his emotive singing and radio-like voice. Performed in the Istana for President SR Nathan and various political guests, among other accolades, before forming PennyLane
ISAAC
Bass guitar, Vocals. Bassist for JamX 2006 champions, Dubious Brothers, and shared the stage during the musical festival, Lime Sonic Bang Concert, with various international bands such as Stars Dont Fall (Australia), Futon (Thailand), River Maya (Philippines) and Electrico (Singapore).
SHANE
Lead guitar, Vocals. Guitarist and founding member of Reverie, originally fronted by Jonathan Leong (main cast of Voyage de la Vie), and later by Surath Godfrey, lead singer of Raw Earth and Timbre Music Academy All Stars. Sessioned for Anita Sarawak for "Come Together", the first musical performance held at Marina Bay Floating Stage.
ALVYN
Drums, Percussion, Vocals. Drummer concurrently for rock band Pulse! which won first place in Yamaha Asian Beat Singapore 2010 (an annual competition organised by Yamaha), and represented Singapore overseas to win the grand championship for Yamaha Asian Beat 2010.
